Study the Divine Mystery —accomplish your destiny & purpose
Holy Names University-Sophia Center in Culture and Spirituality is a place to prepare for and participate in this defining renaissance moment. It is a new moment of compassion, creativity and transformation founded on the dynamics of the universe and the principle of a living cosmology.
Join us as we celebrate at this new time—the emergence of ultimate mystery, integral human presence, radical inclusiveness and the mystical and prophetic wisdom of the world.
Master of Arts in Culture & Spirituality
Our fully-accredited Master of Arts in Culture & Spirituality is offered in both a semester format, that can be completed in as little as nine months, and a weekend format, that attracts working adults from across the country and around the world. Students may also attend these programs on a part-time basis, completing their course of study on a schedule that fits their personal needs. Sabbaticals and Certificates are offered in both formats for people not pursuing an academic degree.
Open to the Public
At the beginning of each Sophia Center Weekend the public is invited to join the Sophia Community for a Friday Night Conversation with our visiting faculty.
Also Sophia Center regularly invites from the community: artists, activists, ritual makers, theologians, ecologists and other contemporary spiritual leaders to share their wisdom and bring fresh perspective to the students and faculty at our Public Forums.
Every June or July at the Summer Institute distinguished spiritual teachers gather to explore and reclaim our spirituality. This is an ideal introduction to the curriculum and work of the Sophia Center as well as a time to join other people seeking knowledge, inspiration, and creativity to amplify life.
Part-time participation in semester courses is also open to the public, and courses may be audited.
